On March 2, 2025 106th Korean Independence Movement Commemoration event was organised by the Korean Association of Central Florida in Orlando.
The Program featured “Saran-bang” performance. Korean traditional dance group staged energising Korean drum performance and an elegant fan dance “ Arirang Alone”, visualising loneliness of Dokdo island.
“The Star-Spangled Banner”, the national anthem of the USA, was equally featured, accompanied by a live flute. Upcoming March 3rd is celebrated as National Anthem Day in the USA, and watching traditionally dressed Koreans on the stage, honouring American anthem, served as a testament of successful integration of Florida’s Korean community into American society.
The entire program had both English and Korean slides translation for the audience to be fully engaged in the spirit of the event. Koreans from all walks of life were embraced and welcomed, including American citizens Koryo Saram.
